I recently had an economics exam where we had to write about the effect of globalisation on a country other than Australia. For my essay I got 16/20 and the average was 14.5/20 but the marker said that I needed a stronger definition for globalisation.

My current definition is:

‘Globalisation’ refers to the integration between different economies as well as the increased impact of international influences on economic activity and all aspects of life. It is the process in which each individual country converges into the global economy prior to factors such as international trade, capital and labour flows.

Does anyone have a stronger/better definition that I could use?

Globalisation is a process in which the people and countries of the world are being brought closer and closer together, economically and culturally, through trade, information technology, travel, cultural exchanges, the mass media and mass entertainment. www.unesco.org/education/tlsf/mods/theme_c/mod18.html
