I've read it in the news recently but everyone my textbook keeps referring to it as the CAD (which i presume stands for current account deficit).

Australia has had a CAD for the last 2 decades and it's currently -4.6% of GDP. :)

Edit: yes CAD stands for Current Account deficit.
