Hey, heres some stuff on legislations, its not much but hey, hospo is a bullsh*ting subject. You can rave on and on in an exam and still get marks.
Legislation that applies to the Hospitality Industry-
Liquor and Gaming Controls-
* Liquor Act 1982 (NSW) – outlines service of alcohol responsibilities
* Liquor Act Section 2A – Harm minimization (responsible service of alcohol
* Liquor Act 2B – Responsible conduct of gaming
Occupational Health and Safety-
* OH&S Act 2000 (NSW) – Ensures all places of work are secure and safe
Public Health-
* Smoke-Free Environment Act 2000 (NSW)
* Food Act 1989 (NSW) – covers all aspects of food handling and production.
Consumer Law and Trade Practices-
* Fair Trading Act 1987 (NSW) and Consumer Claims Act 1998 (NSW) – Governs the issues of product safety and product information.
Industrial Relations-
* Anti-discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
* Disability Services Act 1993 (NSW) – protects individuals who have a disability from discriminatory of unfair practices
* Equal Employment Opportunity (Commonwealth Authorities) Act 1987
* Affirmative Action Act 1986 (Cwlth Auth.) Act 1987 – Equal employment opportunities for women
* Employment Protection Act 1982 (NSW) – protects against unfair dismissal.
