ΔH=-mcΔT

=-1000gx4.18x50°
=-209.0 kJ of heat required

we know that 1367 kJ is released when 1 mole of ethanol is combusted. 1 mole = 46.0g

therefore the mass of ethanol needed = (209/1367)
x 46

=7.0g
