13 Nov 2009, 8:43 AM ![]() | Re: Help with Acid Base titration Going Across: Weak Strong Basic >7 Phenolphthalein Strong Weak Acidic <7 Methyl Orange HCl NaOH (Strong Strong) 7 Bromothymol Blue note that for the last one in theory we say bromothymol blue since it has a color change at the end point however the titration curve for a strong-strong titration has a steep inflexion point and so we can use any of the three indicators in the syllabus so practically we would use phenolpthalein, becuase it has a more distinct color change |
