one of the properties of a primary standard is that it has high molar mass. this reduces the percentage error when weighing.

how does that work? can you give examples?

Say you have a solid that is 12g/mol and a solid that is 40g/mol. When you weigh the solids you may have like a 0.001g error. That 0.001g error is a bigger percentage of the 12g/mol solid as opposed to the 40g/mol solid.
