Salts are formed via neutralisation rxn:

Acid + Base --> Salt + water

Seeing as the salt is slightly basic, that means that the reactant base is stronger than the reactant acid.

Therefore, HCN must be a weak acid in solution (I.e., answer is A)

Alternatively, this about it in terms of conjugate acid/base pairs. If CN- is weakly basic, HCN must be weakly acidic.
