5 Nov 2009, 5:34 PM ![]() | Neglected dotpoint?! You can hide this advertisement by registering. Research a practising Australian chemist. Provide the industry or area in which this chemist works and the branch of chemistry in which he or she is involved.I understand that you have to outline the work of a chemist and explain how identified chemical principles are relevant to their work but I haven't found specific examples in Dotpoint or my chem textbooks. Does it necessarily have to be a real life example or is it like the question 'identify your local catchment area and methods to purify/sanitise drinking water' where you can just make up an example and provide the general chemistry. Who has written notes for this dotpoint? Help is greatly appreciated as I cannot be screwed to research a particular practising Australian chemist! I was just shocked to find the question "identify a practising Australian scientist you have studied and describe his/her work" in the 2005 CSSA trial...who would ask that? lol |

I've done this dot point - it's the 1st dot point in Chemical Monitoring so you can't really miss it. I just did some random people who work at ANSTO from memory ![]()

7 Nov 2009, 9:26 AM ![]() | Re: Neglected dotpoint?! to whoever said its never been done, alot of the times, that means its more likely to be in a paper as a curveball question to seperate out band 5s form band 6s. OT, will they check if the person actually exists??? cos iif not then Im gonna gamble on this one, and just make it up on the spot in the small chance its on the exam.
