Remember - your trial HSC and school assessment marks may be very different to your aligned HSC marks.
please read this on how to determine aligned HSC marks.

download this if you know you have JAVA JRE 5.0 on your computer (Download JAVA )

Windows, MacOSX or Linux
========
Download JUAISeek0506 (~60kb) [most people should get this one]
========

Mirror - Mirror link [please don't use this if you don't have to, only 1GB quota]

It will give you and idea of what SAM2006 will be like.

post here if you need help with using it. It is designed so that many people can use the one app so you can add your friend's subjects to it etc.

It is free :)

Installation Instructions:

1. Check if you have Java on your computer (www.java.com)

2. download one of the two files above

3. Unzip the file to a convenient place

4. Read the "README.txt" for instructions on how to run it

ps. Thanks to laz for telling me of table 8a, lol

Quick start instructions
1. Click "new", make up a name for this group of people click "create"
2. Your file is now opened
3. then add the name/subject by clicking on "add" at the bottom
4. pick your subjects, enter your name.
5. then click on either, Marks/UAI or Reverse

Changes:

build 18: compiled with JDK5.0

build 19: Added 2005 data, some minor changes.

Usage Notes

Ok, I stress this is an estimate like SAM.

However, to improve the quality of your estimate you should be aware of the following things:

1. Take note of the "% in state" box. If you don't think you are in the top 5% of the state and the marks you entered cause you to be in this region. Lower your entered marks appropraitely.

2. When you see any of you scores are red, it means that you fall outside the range of marks that was recorded. (eg. no one got ove 90 for english standard and data below 25 percentile isn't released). So if your marks cause this to happen adjust it so that your marks are within the range. However, some subjects had less than 100 people in it and no data was recieved. For these subjects it will be anyones guess how it is scaled.

3. The subject list isn't really in alphabetically order, more popular subjects are up the top, VET subjects are down the bottom.

yes it is from 04 data, which is what SAM2005 will be based on.

SAM2005's "2005 prediction" is basicly a average of the 01,02,03,04 UAI

yes, the UAI's a a little bit (0.3-0.5) too low for most UAI's i have found. mabye keep that in mind. i'll tweek it more after my exams.

i mean how do u install it
you don't need to install it, just download it and double click it.

if the first file doesn't work try the 2nd one.

for both files you need Java JRE 1.5 on your computer (get it at www.java.com)

yes, that is right, but if you just installed it, it might not recognise ".jar" files yet.

you may need to restart your computer.

an alternative way to run it is to

open command prompt
navigate to the folder with the JUAIseek0405.jar file
type java -jar JUAIseek0405.jar

that kinda of discrepency is generally acceptable? is it?
it is an estimate afterall.

anyway, I will tweak the data in a few weeks and release a new build.
then again, by then SAM2005 will be out and no one will use this :(
