| Re: Are marks scaled in the actual HSC marks? If let's say you're coming 3rd (you did mention top 3) and you fucked up the external exam, you'd still get the 3rd highest mark in the externals as your assessment mark, and your exam mark would be what it would be (after aligning raw marks and all)
As for raw marks, yes, they do move them up and down depending on what raw mark they think equates to a band 6, band 5, and so on. For example, I think last year you only needed about 90/120 (75%) raw on the HSC exam paper in 2U Maths to get a band 6 (adjusted exam mark). Don't quote me on that figure, but that's an example of how 90% does not equate to a 90% raw mark.
