Smile Why do dogs detect different frequncies than humans?

Dogs are able to detect sound much higher and much lower than humans.

Does anyone know any specific reasons?

its not so much higher or lower , but the RANGE is different to ours. (dogs hearing is much better than our , there should be a diagram in the bio book under "communication")
