hey, dunno if this will help you, but my pip's on the extent 2 which virginity is valued in australian society, and one of my survey questions were "do u think the media has influenced your perception of sex/virginity" and my teacher made the excellent point of "when people are influenced by something, they usually don't realise it" so keep that in mind...:)

hey, I will post a reply to your questions over the next couple of days.....yeah definately be aware that people can be influenced sub-consciously by a variety of things and sometimes it hard to discern what agent of socialisation, whether it has been media, family, school, friends etc...has influenced values and beliefs...I think you have a good topic but it is just a matter of finding the right methodology.

By the way, my topic is How generosity is percieved as an Integral Part of the Australian Identity- which essentially explores the role of charities and welfare organisations on both a local, national and international level. If anyone has any comments about this then they would be appreciated.

Good luck with ur PIP!:)

EXCUSE ME?! i'm doing my PIP on the extent to which virginity is valued amongst adolescent girls today- in order to do that, I have to look at sex and 'teenage stuff' as you say. And no, i haven't seen any PIPs like that. If your teacher gave you extensive material on how to research it, then a) you should do quite well b) you would have been told that it does not matter if you do your PIP on something that's been done before, just REMEMBER THAT IT HASN'T BEEN DONE BY YOU. plus everyone's personal experience is different, hence every PIP is different- get it? PERSONAL interest project?

didnt u speak to ur teacher before u actually started doing it..?
since my teacher is a marker and has been for 6 years now dont u think he would have seen more pips in his lifetime than u would?
i mean im not telling u not to do it.. it was just what i was told and i was expressing it...

womens experience on virginity is a touchy subject... but thats ur choice.. it was a topic we were told to stay away from...

I think that if ur pip is intelligent, you should be able to talk about anything that you want.

I've taken an unorthodox approach, and decided to write a pip regarding the psycoanalystical impact on australian society of unorthodox, western sex fetishes.

I know, it sounds extreme, but i have a heap of information, and due to the fact that my uncle is a professor in Italy with a degree in anthropology and psychology it is actually going well.

no i haven't, but i've done extensive research on it.

didnt u speak to ur teacher before u actually started doing it..?
ofcourse i did...and it was approved. i've spoken to other SAC teachers who also think it's an A-OK topic.

i mean im not telling u not to do it.. it was just what i was told and i was expressing it...
it's a bit late now 2 change! but i like it. it's good. i spose i just got told different info, like what i sed b4, that it may have been done b4, but every pip is, in essence, different.

womens experience on virginity is a touchy subject... but thats ur choice.. it was a topic we were told to stay away from...
I'm not asking ppl "r u a virgin?" as such. i'm asking things like, what do u think the media says about virginity, what do u think influences a person 2 stay a virgin or not, it's hard 2 explain. in essence, i'm talking about the cold facts here, like peer pressure and abortion rates. i'm not here 2 interview ppl about the sex lives. it's not "touchy", it's reality!

ps: i was only trying to help not to contradict u
sorry, i'm not usually like this, but it's so upsetting 2 read that after all the hard work! :(
