I know for physics, chem, biology ect its important to make your own notes, but is it essential to make your own notes for engineering? most the exam questions are fairly simple. Would rote learning of someone else's notes on the theoretical stuff be a terrible idea ?

engineering is basically rote, rote all the theory and just study the mathematics and drawing aspect and your set.

It will be recommended to rote it unless you are the kind of person that is already knowledgeable enough to face all questions get be able to get 4/4 for them all. Surely, you can use someone else's notes but if you will tend to remember more when it is made by you.
