Hey,

I was just wondering if the Board of Studies would ask us to MUST ANALYZE certain prescribed texts?

For example, would the HSC question be something like:

Write an essay in which you evaluate the extent to which this is true of "THE BIG SLEEP" AND "The Real Inspector Hound" AND at least TWO texts of your own choosing.

If that happens im absolutely screwed, never done The Real Inspector Hound before

They can't specify certain texts. Most people haven't actually read Cyteen, so if they specified that most people would be screwed over

Theoretically, they could ask, "In your answer make reference to The Big Sleep OR The Real Inspector Hound, and one other prescribed text." In the course you are required to study three of the set texts, so there's no reason they can't ask you that as everyone would have studied at least one of those.

However, they never have with crime fiction, and it is unlikely.
One year they did do it with "Speeches" though.
