Is anyone else here who is doing Russia/USSR studying the ravishing Alexandra Kollontai for their individual study, instead of that horrible brute of a man, Trotsky?

Who is doing what?
And why?

yeah we are doin kollontai, and i think she's a bit weird, crazy feminist infact, but at least she's more interesting than trotsky and had hundreds of love affairs, so that makes it interesting ...
yay, free love!

most of my notes are hard copy, but the most awesome things i found were this lecture i went to at north sydney about trotsky . . . heaps of people went to that so if u find notes fromt hat they're really good. also this book . . . i know its blue . . . i think it has something about the permanent revolution in its name . . . its really really good, especially a chapter about what particular historians have said about trotsky over time.

agreed . . . it was incredibly boring . . . but the notes are AWESOME though not enough really . . . i hate that the study of the individual looks to be so insignificant next to the study of the whole of Russia, and yet the essays are worth the same amount!

they obviously dont expect us to study trotsky or kollontai as much as we do russia as a whole or the syllabus would be bigger, but the essays are still worth 20 marks and they look simple, but i think they're the hardest to go well in.

*gets down off her soapbox now*

kollontai is pretty cool as well... did you guys know she slept with a majority of the BIGGIES in the politburo, including both lenin and trotsky!!! except for Stalin... LOL

Trotsky here - mainly because of available resources [they did Kollontai last year and found it hard to find initial information]
