Do I have to go through UAC again after getting a degree?

Hi,
I've completed my accounting degree last year at Macquarie university and now want to study another undergraduate course that's unrelated to my current degree. Do I have to go through UAC again or can I apply directly to the uni? I noticed the UAC closing date of application is 30th September...

Also, what is the max number of years and amount for the HELP debt?
