what's the likelihood of transferring from Economics & Finance at RMIT in melbourne (or Monash) to Macquarie Uni, UNSW, or UTS?

is interstate transfers even possible?

Yes it's possible. It's exactly the same process as NSW students, they'll use your Year 12 TER Rank and your first year results to determine your transfer

would my chances be lessened if i decided to go to an interstate university?
or just say i did commerce at newcastle, would my chances be heightened because i go to a NSW uni rather than an interstate one?

No.

It doesnt matter what uni you goto, they UAC transfers are based solely on academic performance (ie UAI/TER and 1st year results). However, I think UTS also rely on personal statements/references, but I'm unsure of that process./
