What practical value does a Psych degree have with law?

G'day all,
I have been told that Law and Psych or BA+Psych major and Law go together very well, but what practical value do they serve together?
Also, if doing a BA with a major in Psych, how many contact hours would I have?

Re: What practical value does a Psych degree have with law?

you could do something in forensic psychology/applied psychology which involves looking at the application of psychology in the court room - from the accuracy of testimonials by different sectors of the public, to the way a jury is chosen, and nature by which jurors make their decisions, among other aspects.

your hours will depend on what subjects you do apart from psych but at USyd, the first year psych subject is 3 hours worth of lectures and 1 hour worth of tutorial each week.

on a practical level, if you're interested in family law a psych degree would be really, really useful dealing with client issues.

Pick the other degree based on interest, there isnt much that compliments law in most degrees. Trust me when you have to study for 5 years you will want to enjoy what you're doing
