Question After grad med....???

You can hide this advertisement by registering.
After 4 years of Graduate Medicine at say USYD, what happens and how long does it take until you become a GP with no further hassles? Thanks guyz...

umm
1 yr as an intern at a hospital
1 yr minimum as a resident at a hospital..
3 yrs in a fellowship training/studying to be a gp.. i think its conferred by the royal australian college of physicians at a registered hospital
then u should be done.
u can start to be a GP

fair enough...so do u start getting paid AFTER all of that or do u get some form of pay as soon as u finish ure degree?

yep once u done ure BMed or MBBS
u get paid in intern.. $42k -$50 /yr + u much do minimum overtime (up to $65K/yr)
(note: NSW 42.. WA 50)
but in SA if ure the most senior medical student in 6th yr in the ward u get paid $13/hr lolz
...
as a resident u get paid $60K then overtime again..
then u get paid by ure hospital to train or research.. during ure fellowship

bleh, thats up to the GP. Whether they want to work really long hours, whether they'll work on weekends. Whether they have a high client base. Whether their practise is in an area with lots of customers.
Wasn't it put up officially somewhere that the AVERAGE family doctor earns about 86k a year?
i would have thought most in sydney areas would earn about 100-150 ish

EDIT- after tax, paying off secretary,bills etc
