" significance for the community: - marriage acts as a reminder of joy. jewish history has been a tale of woe and each marriage reminds them that in times of upheaval there is a chance for new hope/fresh start (with each marriage) - allows for the continuation of the jewish line. a person is a jew if their mother is jewish hence it is crucial for jewish believers to "multiply". |
