You must be good at maths! lol Be careful because there is such a lack of data though, and it's hard to judge the 'difficulty' of the paper compared to other years. Hopefully this year we can encourage a number of people to serve the BOS with FOI requests, so that for future years we can have a clearer idea of raw vs. aligned marks.

i would say like quite a few people get 100/120 for this year's 2u paper though... it seemed fairly easy :(

I also heard a lot of people, both on here and at my school saying how difficult it was and they hated it. I didn't find it that hard, but I do Ext. 1 maths as well, and I haven't found any past HSC papers too difficult either. People who only do 2u would have found it challenging, and remember there are probably a lot of people who did 2u that should have been doing General

I guess you'll be pleasantly suprised when you look at your Record of Achievment and see a nice 98 or 99 next to "Mathematics".

like Cactus said, its totally in the air. I severly doubt (personal opinon, don't eat me) that It'll be higher than 2001 (or do I mean lower? 2001 was easier in my personal opinon)!

So you mean the band cut-off will be lower, since 2004 was harder than 2001 :)

That's only what Will_Sparky said. That's not my own opinion. I can't even remember what the 2001 paper was like, but I'd say 2004 was probably somewhat easier than 2003, but not by a great deal.

The Board of studies basically makes a judgement on what a band 6 student from 2001 (i think 2001?) would have gotten if they did this exam, and that mark would be the cut off for band 6. Then the do band 5, 4 etc. It basically allows for all exams to be equal. So the cut off is decided on how difficult BoS saw the paper

Do you mean UAI cutoffs for Uni courses? If you do, yes the UAI cutoff is based on demand. For example if you look at last year's BArts @ SydU, which had a cutoff of 86.5. That means that the person with the lowest UAI who was accepted into that course last year had a UAI of 86.5
