Ecumenism: the coming together of Christian denominations to restore the Church back to one

Interfaith dialogue: this includes the interaction of differing religious groups (eg Islam and Hinduism) coming together and appreciating each others faith in harmony, there is a strong emphasis on the TED video of the "Three Amigos" and there are various other examples

Christian ecumenical movements vs. interfaith dialogue: explained aboves

Importance of ecumenical movements in Australia: World Youth Day - brought people with similar beliefs together, highlights the importance of humainty

Importance of interfaith dialogue: EXTREMELY - Australia is multicultural not monocultural, and thus people must respect other faith groups in society without discrimination. Interfaith dialogue enables this to happen, even though individuals do not agree on all of the 'big questions' of life. It is also important in the workforce.
