Hello Im going over a paper for CSSA 2013 and i have come upon section 3 and the question is hard in my opinion, Has anyone got the solutions to the paper or can someone help me answer the following question

“Sacred writings draw on the wisdom of the past even as they give voice to the issues and concerns of the present"
Explain how Christianity today, as a living religious system, is guided by the wisdom of the past.

Many Thanks

Yeah, can't find answers for that trial. Although this is how i'd approach it (I'm doing Baptism + Pope John XXIII)

Link the 'sacred writings' to Baptism, via the Gospel. And how the symbols within Baptism are reflective of the bible. Since Baptism still done today --> living religious tradition --> encompassing beliefs, sacred writings

Also 'sacred writings' --> John XXIII papal encyclicals --> Pacem En Terris and Mater et Magistera -->positive social mission guiding Christians today

Idk, that's how i'd do it
