But the divide is greatest around the 80-90 mark, not at the 99 mark. A smart student will get 99 at any school. Indeed, I know of a student this year who got 99.65 at an extremely mediocre public school (the next highest student was around 91 or so). The point I'm trying to make is that 99.95ers will always be 99.95ers, regardless of which school they are at. So the original poster's point is very much lost on me.
