LOTE: Extra Points/Marks

If you study a LOTE e.g Chinese Second Language do you get extra points/marks to your overall study score or something? How does it work?

I'm sure the Victorian Government had promoted to students to undertake a LOTE.

um i think theyre marked out of 55 plus languages like chinese, indonesian and french scale up heaps like 10 minimum...which is already a bonus..i soo recommend doin a LOTE, i do two...!!

yehh i do Greek and Indonesian...its a bit tough but theyre my best subjects so next yr at uni im gonna do them both and pick up french!! cant wait!!!

It all depends on the language you picked and on your result.
Last year in French, a 48-50 went up to 55 and a 45 to 54. But a 35 went to a 42 or 43 I think.
French, German and Latin will bring you the most Bonus points.
Some other Languages like Italian or Greek are scaled down... a bit strange.

um...the languages that scale up most are yeh french, german, latin, hebrew etc..but greek scales UP 3 and italian scales UP 7 so...its more the minor languages like macedonian and turkish that scale down bout 1 or 2...i think arabic scales down a bit too...but yeh greek scales up...and italian scales up heaps...check the 2006 assessment report...u can see how all the languages scaled last yr. .........(www.vtac.edu.au/pdf/scaling_report.pdf)........
