All episodes of One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Prince of Tennis (mostly really), Card Captor Sakura, Detective Conan, Cowboy Bebop, and like 10s of other Japanese Anime in subs...I hardly learnt anything LOL

I do watch Naruto (French-dubbed). It helps, but only after a certain point in time. There aren't many French-dub animes online, so I went from nothing to full-French dub, no subs. Subbed... didn't help without dubs. I suppose you could get Jap-dub-subs, but it's really a question of how much you know. Grammar is a must, and vocabulary - the more the better. BUT you won't learn many words just listening to them. It's more about understanding the words that you already know and putting them in context (seeing them in the "real world"), and that helps when you've got listening tests. (The good thing is that the voices on tape are much slower than voices in animes and dramas. Makes comprehension so much easier.)

Seori, may I ask where you downloaded the French dubs for Naruto? Only because I've desperately been trying to find them to improve my own French skills (and am big fan of Naruto XD XD)!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's using anime to improve language skills ahahahaha, my friends gave me hell about it XD XD.

hehe! lots of people said it doesn't help, but for me it really helped.

not only has my vocabulary greatly increased but i'm so used to hearing it that listening tasks in class are very easy for me. i am able to understand what they're saying (japanese people talk so fast!).

It's also a great excuse to watch some cool stuff! You'll start to love japan and the people, it will be your motivation to try hard. i love japanese....too bad i'm not the same with chinese (i could be doing so much better).
