Language Analysis did freak me out during reading time
But when I got into it wasn't bad
I thought I did ok but not sure about my interpretation of the visual image
So Text and Language were fine but the context was horrid
That was the worst prompt ever for Imaginative Landscape
I only had 30 minutes to write that piece
I did 3 pages but didn't proof-read
I hope that piece doesn't drag my overall mark too much down
Dang.. u did the exact same things i did
1st essay topic of LBW
&
Context 'The Imaginative Landscape'

it was a pretty bad prompt.. but.. i managed to put pen on paper with it..
I'm thinking 'The Imaginative Landscape' is the most unpopular context in VCE English.. because there isnt much on BoS about it.

I didn't mind it, but fuck, Voxi seemed like a freak of a person.

Predictions
Text response (inheritance q. i) 3 pgs - 8/10
Context (conflict) - 3 pgs 8/10
Lang Analysis - 3 pgs 7.5/10

I had finished the first paragraph, and then realised I left out the heading and visual, so i crossed out the first paragraph and wrote that paragraph after, I'm so lucky I realised when I did...otherwise i'd be screwed.
And I finished the exam with 2 mins spare

hmmmmm
i'm not really sure what i'd get...

the good thing is i
topped the school for my SACs,
both Unit 3 and 4

and im guessing my
essays to be

7 7 7

or 8 7 7

any rough idea what this might end up in? D:

36-39 bracket...

Re: well, it is done

7, 7, 7 is likely to get you a 37
8, 8, 8 a 40
*keep in mind that these are approximations and thus aren't always precisely the case

Re: well, it is done

Great work guys, for me personally English was a great relief since it was my favourite subject I wanted to do well and doing well on the exam set the tone for my remaining subjects.

Re: well, it is done

Personally I feel like kicking myself over that English Exam

In the Text Response, I did 'A Man for All Seasons', question i 'Do you think modern families would understand why More choose his principles over his family' or something along the lines of that ...

I kept babbling on about how even though families may not be able to comprehend More's actions, they will however, be able to understand he is a man of saintly qualities...

Oh god, I wanted to rewrite it so badly after I finished all sections but had only 10 minutes remaining

On the other hand, the other two sections I thought I did quite alright (Roxi wasn't that bad); hope those two would save me from ultimate FAIL.

Re: well, it is done

The prompt for encountering conflict was absolute crap. The anaylsis was ok although the first half was somewhat of a joke.

Does anyone know what kind of study score I'm looking at with a high B+ on the exam (also ranked pretty high in my school cohort)?

low to mid 30s..

my guess from 33 to 37, depending on how high your SAC marks are, I've heard instances where people with A+, A+, B+ got 38 Raw so you could get similar depending on cohort and how your exam went, all the best.

Re: well, it is done

hmmm thanks guyz

oh by the way

u know how i said i topped the school for both unit 3,4? (SACs)

and i'm guessing around 8 7 7,

and the approximation u guyz gave me was around high 30's

will this change if i'm ESL??
if it does, am i likely to get higher SS
or lower SS?

(yeh i know ESL writing stuff at ENG forum,,,, well no one is writing at ESL forum T.T....)

mid-20s. If your in a strong cohort then maybe high 20s to low 30s (Assuming your SACs get lifted up)
