4 Nov 2009, 9:03 PM ![]() | Study Score estimation? You can hide this advertisement by registering. I'm trying to estimate my study score for English. I'm a little worried I won't get into University which is really going to effect my life. I'm not the smartest person out there, but I only need an ENTER of 50 to get into my course, so I'm not too worried. However, I'm particularly bad at English, and I need a study score of 20 in English to get into my particular course. I just finished my English exam today and sorta worried. All my SACs so far have been C-'s, C's or C+'s, so we'll average it out as C's, with the exception of my oral presentation which I got a zero on (extreme irrational fear of public speech, couldn't do it). Based on SAC results can someone give me a rough idea of what I'll get? Preferably someone who had similar results in previous years. |

14 Dec 2009, 2:35 PM ![]() | Re: Study Score estimation? An average of C in SAC's will get you a solid SS of 30. Depending on how well you did in today exam, it may also either go up or down. As long as you manage to get a D or anything above it will gaurantee you a score of 20+ if not 25 . And a C will definetly get you either a 29-30 depending on the states performance. |

15 Dec 2009, 9:07 PM Blog Entries: 1 ![]() | Re: Study Score estimation? Actually... your SAC marks are a little bit below the mean of last years. Last years SAC mean was 66%. So, assuming you redeemed that 0, you're probably gonna have about an average of about 50%. That's in the bottom 20% or so. If you get 45% on the exam, you're not so far below the mean. So you're probably still around about the bottom 20% or so. This would be a Study score of around 25 (if you are lucky, and not including statistical moderation, which is where they take into consideration how everyone else in your class went) http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vcaa/vce/...glish_ga08.pdf Last edited by Multihunter; 30 Oct 2009 at 10:34 PM. 4 Nov 2009, 9:03 PM ![]() | Re: Study Score estimation? Thanks. I'm just really nervous i won't get into University because of English. I have no doubt about getting the required enter score, but getting the required study score in English really has me worried. Quote:
I know the information i've supplied is quite vague but im really worried and just needed some reassurance.

but in regards to you, iRandom, i'm fairly sure that kebaby is correct in saying that anything over a D will get you the 20+ that you're aiming for - your average of Cs and C+s, if repeated on the exam should land you around the vicinity of 27-30ish, which is my guess. I hope you get what you're aiming for, study score, ENTER and course!

1 Mar 2010, 12:04 AM ![]() | Re: Study Score estimation? I've an A average for my SACs. If I were to get just say the mean mark, i.e. about 53%, what study score would that result in? I just want to know what my low study score would be. (I feel as though i performed reasonably well, maybe an A in exam.) Last edited by Vce121; 1 Nov 2009 at 1:34 PM. |

29 Dec 2009, 9:32 PM ![]() | Re: Study Score estimation? What sort of score should I realistically expect? I want to be prepared in case it's below the expectations of my teachers. A+ on every sac bar 1, for which I got an A. Aiming for at least an A on the exam, hopefully A+. My results have been pretty good in relation to my cohort... Particularly my class. But it's hard to tell exactly... We have quite a number of students who don't make an effort in English. Any suggestions would be appreciated |
