Well, I'm using Heinemann and Jacaranda and they both seem pretty decent.

Whilst there is too much crap in it (ie. Case studies about people with genetic dieseases etc), I found that the Jacaranda "Nature of Biology, Book 2" is pretty damn good. I managed to get A+'s on my exams with it ^_^

Thumbs up for nature of biology, it goes through and beyond the entire course in detail.

I use Heinemann, which itself is pretty good.

Using Nature of Biology and Nelsons Biology. It's good to have two text book references, although it sounds redundant, I find there is content in one and not in the other and it's outlined in the study design.

Re: which is the best textbook that follows the syllabus for biology?

I would say Nature of Biology. My school uses Heinemann officially, but I didn't find it detailed enough and so I use NoB and Heinemann in tandem. XD Then I discovered that my teacher actually does the same thing. Using two or even three textbooks tends to cover the content better, like cn121 said. [:

Nature of Biology is really popular; my school uses it.
I can't really tell though, considering I rarely open the textbook.
I find textbooks in general to be the least helpful things ever, ever.

I'm assuming you have good teachers then. Consider yourself lucky.
