Re: End of year exam thoughts 2009

i did what jack said as cost of sales would have been recorded twice as in sales journal you record cost of sales in the column. all i dont understand were the netball posters cause according to NRV i dont see how the posters can be added to the cost price if they are in themselves a seperate item simply being sold as a combo. i thought it was a trick and irrelevant to the cost price.

and yes that exam was badly structured as some areas had too many lines and some not enough. oh wells. it was the best 50min of my exam life :P. had time to redo the entire exam twice with all calculations

yea i just ignored the posters too, thinking they were a seperate item :S i wasn't really sure tho... oh and i'm pissed off because the of the sales return thing, i'm pretty sure i had it exactly right but i there weren't enough lines so i rubbed something off, got confused, then i skipped it thinking i'd come back to it then ran out of time! grrr ahhh well

Re: End of year exam thoughts 2009

the posters arent added to the cost they are taken away from the expected selling price, as they are a cost incurred in the selling marketing or distribution.
but i guess it could go either way ... but the business is still incurring the cost at some point

Re: End of year exam thoughts 2009

hey,

how'd you guys get 1000 for the variance?
since the new contract started at the end of august, that would mean that they would be off by $200 for sept, oct, nov, dec = $800?
