| Ace up my sleeve | You can hide this advertisement by registering. This subject is good for anyone interested, I did it last year and it was fun, although, at my school it wasn't so much Australain History, as it was, Australian History, focussing on the area that we live in (in my case that being South West Victoria) So, we did gold rushes, and focussed on south west victoria, settlement, of south west victoria, WW1, and it's impacts on south west victoria, and finally Vietnam and how it affect south west victoria! I was a little schoked at this, and being a newer resident of south west victoria, was a bit stunned a the extent of detail gone into! Just scary at times |

6 Jun 2007, 11:14 PM ![]() | Thanks For Sharing SugarPlum... hey nashie, did you have aust. history drummed into you since yr7? That's what happened to me, so when it came to subject choices I went against it. Also I'd have to do it via distance ed., and I'm a major procrastinator! |

| Ace up my sleeve | Yeah, thats true Cass, but remember that the people who are really good at English and essay writing do it (same as lit) os it can be harder to get great marks... although I dunno because last years average was only 29... (and i got 28 )

28 Oct 2009, 10:41 AM ![]() | I'd probably have found it horribly boring. Aus History has been absolutely done to death for me. I did Revs last year and it was a lot of fun, not only because of the decent score I got |

24 Sep 2009, 5:24 PM ![]() | Re: Australian History Doing Australian History at VCE is so different to doing it at younger years. There is so much more detail to go into, and more intersting and sophisticated issues to look at within the 'same old topics'. I think it also flows a bit better than Revs, that feels all a bit choppy and changey for me. And I don't know anyone who does Renaisance Italy, it seems way to big and scary.

30 Aug 2008, 9:41 AM ![]() | Don't know how so many of you guys/girls enjoy the class. I loath it, sooo boring, my class only has 5 kids, the teacher is always late, she has no clue (gave an A+ to an essay that said "in conclusion") and you have to make a time with her 3 weeks before if you want help with whatever. how are you ment to know what you're gunna struggle with ahead of time. constantly wants you to look up things on the wrong page numbers....... I am going to do so shit in the class, we have cheat sheets for every SAC i will know nothing come exam time, and honestly I kinda want to bad in subject in a way to show her how shit she is when I can do so well in all my other classes..... in case you can't tell I don't like my teacher (as a teacher) |

19 Nov 2008, 7:29 PM ![]() | Re: Australian History Trelly, what a relief, I thought I was the only one who wasn't from some massive toff school. But self-directed study isn't impossible. Despite the fact that the subject is so boring when ur teacher is dud, it's easy enough to focus on parts of the course that you like. For example, I'm a politics man, and so, I focused on politics from federation, WWII and Vietnam, and issues like 'why the aborigines died out' for AOS 1. The course is pretty broad. There should be something bearable in it for everyone. Then again, it doesn't sound like u need it in ur primary 4, so who cares!?! |
