That looked poor on my English report, I was rank 1 but fell to 33 because of that essay

A last minute HSC guide that shouldn't be read at the last minute is this:
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/...332372684.html
(by SMH for the 2002 HSC. The AOS part is irrelevant but the rest seems good.)

Great article, nice find. Judging by how brief it is, the article is really only for very last minute studying.

Re: READ: Last Minute Guide to AoS

I had my paper 1 test today. Section 3's question was this:

"Without challenges that physical journeys, the world would be a much boring place". Evaluate this statement referring to your texts.

Ummmmm.... I bullshitted.. It didn't match my prepared essay

Journeys Over Land And Sea has proven how the pioneers overcomed many journeys in order to benefit later generations e.g. Their journeys have provided us with new places to visit because of their discoveries. If they didn't discover new land then people would be trapped in their countries and could not explore the world therefore it would be boring.

Crossing the red sea has allowed Skrzynecki to share his challenges of his journey to Australia, how all the immigrants had pain and suffering but they have overcomed it by visualising a hopeful future. Without these challenges in his poem, the poem would not appeal to anyone.

Migrant hostel.. same thing as crossing the red sea.. his family suffered the 'comings and goings' of immigrants but they tried to have an optimistic view of the future.

'A Horse With No Name' By America is about the desert as a metaphor for a challenge. The undertaker of the journey has overcome the harsh conditions of his journey and has reached the city. His journey has interested the responder because of his challenge.

Ummm I fucked up

Re: READ: Last Minute Guide to AoS

There is a ORDER in which you complete the sections in!!! it is critical, you might end u losing great marks if you didnt manage your time.

1st Section 1:
Unseen Texts - Your related material/comparitive text could be used! You shouldnt use your text if its in here... Thats why you have a BACKUP

Extended Response:
There are no short cut here - you MUST spend 40 minutes here.

Creative Piece:
Why last? IF you have about half an hour to complete your creative piece you can cut it down and manipulate it, or cut it off early. Your marks will be affected as much.
