Sat half of my first Unit 4 SAC last term and got 19/20. Dropped the stupidest mark, so very pissed off as I could have easily gotten full marks. 3 people in the class of 16 got full marks and 3 other people also got 19/20, the rest scored lower than us ranging from 8-18/20.

So so far I've averaged 91/100 for Unit 3 and 95/100 so far for Unit 4.

We're sitting the next half of the SAC in a few weeks and we'll also be sitting the second and last Unit 4 SAC in two parts.

Re: Legal 2009 discussion thread.

hey guys, im fairly new to this forum, im in yr 11 doing yr 12 legal. I have a question, why is it to get a high ss you have to be at the top of the cohort? is that for SAC's, exam or both? im second in my cohort for sacs, unit 3=93/100 and first is at 94, does that mean if i ace the exam i cant get a higher ss then the person who is at (the top considering i beat them in the exam)?

Re: Legal 2009 discussion thread.

because though it's technically a neutral scaling subject they stretch the marks or something... from 50-100 to 0-100 and because it's neutral it doesn't go up and so unless you get 100 as an HSC mark, it will get scaled down.

But the girl who came first in our grade got 100, i.e. she hasn't lost a single mark all year, got it scaled down to 90 which is really wierd... apparently its because their basing it on last year's results where some girls were expected to get 99/100 and ended getting lower.

not sure how it works exactly...

Re: Legal 2009 discussion thread.

Did anyone go to any lectures? I went to one that had leanne newson, Jules Aldous and another teacher (can't remember the name). And I also went to one that was six and a half hours long. Way too long!

What are you guys' SAC marks?

Re: Legal 2009 discussion thread.

Absolute joke!
In our legal class.. there are like 3 guys.. absolute jets in Legal,
In practice exams absolutely killing it!
BUT
Our teacher favors the 'jocks' and gives them like extra marks EVEN though they have spelling errors/grammatical errors and doesnt make sense, he even says ' I knew what you were trying to say and Accessors wouldnt give you marks, but I know what you were saying' So there like 1-2 marks higher then us.. meaning there ranking is higher
argh!
So end of year exam, us three guys who are sitting like middle-high for sacs,
if we get 56+/60 for the exam, can we get 40+ still ?
Im so annoyed =='

Favoritism is an unfortunate reality in schools. It's also present in the real world so best you get used to it and only mention it if the favoritism gets way out of hand.

If you get above 53 out of 60 and are ranked well then I'm pretty sure you can get a 40+ score. Definetely with a 56+, even if you aren't ranked at the top (can't be bottom though).

Re: Legal 2009 discussion thread.

Favoritism is highly discouraged, especially since the system is based on ranking. If I were in your position, I would consult with my VCE coordinator. He/she should be able to come up with a solution. Since you are trying to get a top score (40+) every point you can get counts.

Re: Legal 2009 discussion thread.

Yeah that sucks if you get teachers who favour other students and then they screw the exam.

I have now until the exam to study for legal, no exams in between, scha-wing!
I love legal heaps, but i just seriously can't be fucked doing practice exams and revision.... eghhhhh......... I'm ranked second in my school's cohort though so I guess I have to really lift my game for the exam. I'm dying for all exams to be over just so over it

Hey has anyone done insight exams? The suggested solutions are ridicoulously long. Are they seriously meant to be?

Yeah, this is the case for many practice exam solutions. I generally just disregard them and check my notes.

The Insight 2008 exam is very good and I think is an accurate reflection of what we'll get on exam this year.
