| Assistant Member | You can hide this advertisement by registering. I want to do an extra yr of VCE, ill do bio and psych, i love philosophy but not sure whether its worthwhile as a study.Could anyone give me an outline of the unit3-4 course and maybe a sample of some work?

Basically, there are three criterion which are assessed; - Understanding of philosophical concepts and theories, - Ability to critically analyse philosophical concepts and theories, - 'Doing philosophy' - Being able to introduce your own founded ideas and conclusions relating to the topics in discussion and linking them to contemporary debates. (Such as Descartes' definition of existence undermining the argument against abortion) 'Doing philosophy' is apparently the most crucial part of 3/4 philosophy in 2009.. Examiners are interested in our own philosophical platform, not simply regurgitated understandings of philosophers'. Hope this helps, Cheers |
