Heavy Metal......hmm, sounds slightly out of place....

not exclusively, i listen to a lot of classical, old christian pop, aqua....i listen to almost all genres i think....

After getting interested in classical i realised metal prob the closest genre to classical, especially the really popular/epic ones.... I dont study music so dont really know what im talking about

My fav bands are Apocalytpica(cellists who go from heavy metal to very classical, inspired me to start cello), Avantasia and Nightwish...

I dont really like jazz much but havent heard much to judge...soundtracks are always awesome

Jazz - complex, simple, clever
Classical - wordless, transient, powerful
"Latin" (actually more tango music) - interesting rhythm, intense, energetic

Fairly much agree, there are a couple of exceptions to rawr-rawr and doof-doof but only because they have the decent beat etc

I'm pretty broad. Basically anything except country, yodelling, and sex/drugs/alcohol rap.

I looooove rock, indie rock, electro, psychedelic, trance, dance, rap esp old school.....................hmm idk basically anything.

I did copy and paste. However, it was the list of music I wrote to describe my taste on facebook and myspace; so it's my own list.

Doom metal:
Doom metal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Very slow, bass note driven metal. Often nihilistic. Very different to thrash.

Intelligent Hip-Hop is in some ways a made up genre. I use it to describe hip-hop that is based on a socio-political message, rather than just a slather of words to beats. e.g. Common, Talib etc.
