I heard a rumour that if there is a 15+ mark difference between assesment mark and HSC mark, they give you some sort of special consideration, or like you arent affected by your skools moderation ranking. is this tru or bs?

i dont know, i havnt heard of it..and it seems the other people that have posted so far havnt either, so i wouldnt rely on that..i know it is too late to make a difference to your school marks, but for future years i wouldnt rely on this working.

Yes and no. :)

If a student's performance in the HSC exam is markedly below what was to be expected on the basis of their assessment mark, they may initially be excluded from the moderating process, and then 'slotted in' afterwards.

This prevents their classmates from being unfairly pulled down, but it doesn't advantage the student at all.

pri - no, in that case the student would not be excluded - the other students would be advantaged.

Jesh - the rank counts more than the mark, yes.
