I know this question has prolly been asked before but ive looked and i cant find a definate answer.

Can the HSC exam change the ranks sent in by your school?

Like if i am ranked 2nd in physics, will i stay 2nd overall or is there a chance that i can go great in the HSC and come first?

If you come first in the HSC Exam, that mark always stays the same. But the second highest mark will become your moderated assessment mark.

Your ranking doesn't change due to the HSC exam.

For clarification -

Your moderated assessment mark may be similar to the second highest exam mark, but only if both distributions are similar.

Your assessment ranking cannot change due to the HSC exam, however, it is possible for your overall ranking to change (see thread referred to above).
