Aggregate, Bands, Percentiles and UAI

Bands have nothing to do with UAI. These bands are shown on the record of achievement.

Your aggregate is the sum of scaled marks from the best 8 units and 2 units of English, where each unit is worth 50.

Maximum Aggregate is 500.

To get a UAI of 70, you need an aggregate of *about* 287
To get a UAI of 80, you need an aggregate of *about* 322
To get a UAI of 90, you need an aggregate of *about* 370
To get a UAI of 95, you need an aggregate of *about* 405
To get a UAI of 99, you need an aggregate of *about* 450
To get a UAI of 100, you need an aggregate of *about* 480

Although you don't get to see your scaled marks, it would be a good idea to purchase the UAISeeker and try around with marks and add up your aggregate.

If your state percentile in a certain subject is 80%, that means, 20% of the people in the state have gained better marks than you, and you have gained better marks than 80% of people in the state.

If your state percentile in a certain subject is 30%, that means, 70% of the people in the state have gained better marks than you, and you have gained better marks than 30% of people in the state.

If you do not understand how the scaled/aligned marks are achieved and what they do refer to this

Actually, I don't think you can get a UAI of 100 with a band 4 in maths.

Unless of course the subject doesn't count. I've tested with the UAISeeker a bit.

what do you mean by w/e subject?

With ... easy subjects?

Maybe... maybe not,

Easy subjects = Band 6 in all as long as the aggregate is 450+ gives you a UAI of 100?

That is unlikely, but it could happen?

I agree with 405+ for 95
and 450+ for 99 though. :)

/edit woohoo 2400 posts!
I'm out of here lol... (that was my goal for today)

:) ;) :D

To get 100 UAI you need aggregate of about 473.

Try using UAISeeker reverse mode to test.

By saying you need band 4, I'm sure most people will be talking about Aligned mark, not scaled mark as you have said, because no one will ever know their scaled mark.

Using UAISeeker you still require an aligned mark of 92 which gets scaled down to 84 which still isn't even band 4 if you take account that you were talking about scaled marks.

w/e = whatever

well, you see aggregate is sum of *scaled* marks.

so it doesn't matter what subject you do... the thing is, quality of course candidature decides how well you are scaled.

a) no one got below a scaled mark of 72
b) laz was too lazy to make it calculate a mark below 72
c) laz thinks people that get less than 72 dont deserve a UAI
d) all of the above
