3 unit course? Calculation - split? (1 Viewer)

Hi, i have looked @ UAC and Board of Studies manuals etc. but i have never found the answer to this question:

How are marks allocated accordingly for a 3unit subject?

Like is it 2units for 2unit maths and 1unit for 3unit maths?

then how does that work ???

I hear from some friends that it is worth half-half for 3unit maths (i.e. 2unit maths mark is worth same as 3unit maths mark)

if you do 2u maths, then you will get a mark out of 100 for 2u. (ie 2 units)
and your 3u component will be a mark out of 50( ie- 1 unit)

no, ur 3u is worth 2 units, and 4u is worth 2 units .... u cant say ur 2u is worth nothing, cos u dont do 2u ...

yehh no 2u..!! the reasons im not doin 2u and opt for 4u:
-stupid sequences and series

na (i know its a bit off the topic), but u can still get those in the 3u test.

true, when u do 4u, the board assumes that u know all the topics of 2u. hence, u can be tested on any of it.

but imagine if 2U was counted. you could have 100 free marks

not in 4u, but in the 3u paper .... what i'm trying to say is that, ext 1 students and ext 2 students do the same paper for 3u. so there is a very good chance of 2u questions being in the 3u paper ...

For your 10units, how would a good score in 3u be counted if you werent doing any other extension subjects?

Say for example your only 1u subject is extension maths and you go well in it, what happens? is your 2u mark scaled up or what?

Your marks in one course can't affect your marks in other courses.

All of your courses are split up into lots of 1 unit (e.g. 90/100 in 2u maths becomes a unit of 45/50 and a second unit of 45/50), and your UAI consists of your best 10.
