A good student should be able to write at least one A4 page every 10 minutes.

I would recommend aiming for one every eight minutes.

Mmm... wise to plan how to manage your time... folly to do it incorrectly.

Unless you're a brilliant writer, I would recommend instead cutting the time from section 1. You should be at the stage where you can race through those simple introductory questions on techniques and so on.

I'm of the opinion that most people will be cutting time from section 2, meaning if you spend more time there it will be easier to beat them. And you'll have the same advantage as them in section 3 if you use the spare time from section 1.

Make sense? ;)

u should prolly spend the 30 on section 1, and 40 on section 2. cos u get the 10 min reading time anyways where u can read the texts ....

is that like a normal A4 page, or one hsc booklet page, cos those things have huge margins and gaps between lines

I believe there are eight (non-A4) pages per BOS booklet. Ribbon effect is coooool... I'm sure the markers would see your essay and go 'oooh ribbon student *tickticktickticktick*' before they even read it. :p
