Hey
I have a question regarding my UAI.
Last month my school informed me that I had too many category B units (4). Apparently you can only have up to 2 cat B units count towards your UAI so this meant that only 8 of my 10 units would count.
Does this effectively mean that I will only get 80% of my UAI?
eg. If I were to get a UAI of 100 with all of my units, I would only get 80 now.
This more or less puts me out of contention for UNI, but I am sitting a STAT test as another means of entry.

My units are:

4 unit MATHS
2 unit advanced ENGLISH
2 unit INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
2 unit INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY - MULTIMEDIA

Could someone just explain what will happen to my UAI mark because the teachers at school are fools who wont even take the blame for this fuck up.

Both "Information Technology" and "Industrial Technology - Multimedia" are Category B subjects, and only your best one can count towards your UAI.

Yes, your UAI will be based on only eight of your ten units. This means that the maximum scaled aggregate you can receive is 400 (UAI of almost 95) instead of 500 (guaranteed UAI of 100).

If you do extremely well in the eight units that count, you could still attain a UAI in the high 80s or low 90s.
