no. every subject is treated exactly the same by the scaling ppl.

The reason behind years are bad scaling for some subjects is the fact that people who enrol in those subjects tend to get low marks in others ones.

I heard it was capped.

I know that gen maths is capped. My old maths teacher said it was capped a few SDs above the mean...

perhaps in terms of HSC marks.. but in terms of UAI it doesn't have much of an effect.
Even then the "cap" cannot be official

I think what xsjado means is that if you get 100 as your HSC mark will your scaled mark (for the UAI) be 100. The answer is no one knows what will happen this year until after people do their HSC because everything is carried out afresh. Although, from past years, it probably is "capped", the only ones that arn't are like, 4u maths, chem, etc..

You can get this data your self, its on the UAC's web site in the UAI section.

At the moment, yes. It is capped at 42/50 or thereabout.

And I strongly consider this subject to be capped infinitely. Looking from last 5 years, it will definitely remain capped.

In terms of HSC mark, no subject is capped. You can get 100 or 99 or whatever you want to get.
