When the UAC people calculate a UAI for a HSC candidate what variables do they consider to the calculation of a UAI... I.e - hsc marks, assessment marks and so on ? any others ?

ive just had a look at that thing...so our assessment and hsc marks combine to form a raw mark?
and it is that raw mark that is then scaled?
so in essence they really are scaling the assessment mark too, its just been combined with out hsc mark?
even though my assessment marks rocked, nothing would be good enough to pull up my hsc marks to a half decent raw mark ;)

The assessment mark and the HSC exam mark are averaged which results in your HSC mark.

This HSC mark is then scaled.

Moderated assessment mark is when the board of studies takes your raw school assessment mark and -moderates- it to the appropriate exam mark to correspond with your rank (not exactly equal to it though).

Since the exam is aligned to fit performance bands, you can say that the moderated assessment mark as been aligned because they used the aligned exam mark.

Moderated assessment marks can be seen in a similar light to that of raw exam marks - the moderation process places them on the same scale.

Both are aligned before being reported.
