I heard that your UAI may be affected by the following two factors:

Rural students recieve extra marks, three I think. Is that true?

And people within certain boundaries for certain unis recieve extra marks. What's the allowance of extra marks for Newcastle uni?

Someone very knowledgeable give me an answer. :D

Yeah, it's true extra UAI points can be granted. Particularly through EAS (Educational Access Scheme).

I don't know how many points rural students receive. Newcastle Uni was 4 points for local students, but I don't know anymore.

Technically, no extra UAI points are granted - university cut-offs are instead lowered by a certain number of points.

You should see individual university websites (and the UAC website) for more information on their access schemes.
