How would one go about finding out what ones school is ranked for a particular subject (specifically maths)?

I don't think that is possible aside from using the dodgey method of counting how many band 6's from a school are from maths. Which is rather tedious.

There is an actually ranking - atleast for maths there is because our school actually receive info that we made it into the top 120 for maths, despite being around 180s overall

My english teacher was telling us what ranks our school got in english last year, so perhaps you could ask your maths teacher, or the head teacher of maths...

I think theres a completely different rating system then the SMH one because in schools like mine, everyone in ext 2 got top band, so they wouldve gotten 100%, which wouldve made us much better then we came

i dont know, but you subject person or principal SHOULD have statistic relevant to your school. I was talking to the deputy princiapl at our school the other day and he was telling me HOW our school does in subjects ( so i could take it in consideration coz like just say 4u maths scales well, but our skool doesnt do good in it so it scales less)
so yeah, deputies and that have info, but not like rankings

untamed: in the SMH they didn't actually rank based on band 6's in mathematics/english, they just gave figures for each school in the top 120 as to how many they achieved.

it was a percentage as well which was dodgy as some school with a candidature of 3 or something came second behind ruse

some semi decent person should just go to a really bad school and top the school just to beat ruse's maths record

Go back to your special school and keep telling yourself that.

Your post would sound smarter if I actually went to a special school.
ah well.

Seriously, is that based on percentages, or numbers? Because I thought that those north shore selective schools always topped the charts for that sort of thing.

Then my previous comments do not apply...
I ran the presumption you went to a non-selective gov school...
pfft.

No need to be so defensive of your own school, you know... :p
