I was wondering if someone could clarify some things for me:

1) if someone got all band 5s for his subjects (say mid to late 80s), is it possible to get 98 + UAI

2) if people getting band 1's in the best selective schools would they get 90 + UAI

These are not my points of views, but those of others i know, but i believe both are wrong.

1) yes (if they did subjects like ext2 and hebrew)
2) no

and apparantly he did ext1 maths, chem, physics, bio etc. no overally difficult ones

Try using SAM. That should give you a better indication.
