And on a sidenote, interviewers aren't stupid. Just because they smile and nod their head at you whilst you regurgitate a memorised pile of ...., doesn't necessarily mean they believe you. If the partners are able to argue their way through accounting standards and calling bluff from clients whilst raising fees, I find it unlikely they can't get their head around a 17/18 year old high school student's claims.

look at this stage i woud agree to disagree... i actually have a question for you though - why did u choose to go to UNSW for your bcomm... at the interview it looked like practically all the cadets were doing a UTS degree, probably coz it was close to work. how did you find travelling to and from UNSW from the city after work?

15 Nov 2009, 7:16 PM ![]() | Hey Guys. I’m currently in year 11 (technically in year 12 now) and definitely thinking of doing a cadetship.. I've been working on my extra-curricular, Leadership and volunteering activities and this is what I have done so far in the past three years. I heard it was really competitive, so what are my chances of me getting a cadetship with what I’ve done so far?... taking into consideration that applications for cadetship in '10 is ages away and i still have time to do more...um what else...oh, do they take into consideration about any work experience? and if so, should I take on a part time job during year 12? 21 Jun 2009, 6:46 PM ![]() | Re: Accounting Cadetships 2009 Yep most of the Big 4 offer a couple of spots in Business Advisory. It's really much too early for this sort of talk. Wait until next year's Chartered Accountants Career Day. They'll have pamphlets at your school and advertise it at the website when more info comes out http://www.charteredaccountants.com.au/students I think you guys should just stop worrying about this and enjoy the upcoming summer holidays.

So other than the big 4 companies, does anyone know what other firms that offer cadetships? And how does it work? So you go to each of their websites, sign up for info night, and what happens from there? Thanks heaps guys. |
