Maths complimenting Comp Sci units

I need to do atleast 2 computer science units for my BCM, so far I have done Java Programming and will do C Programming next semester.

The units I can choose are:

CITS2211 Discrete Structures (Preferred as I can do this next semester)
CITS2232 Databases
CITS2200 Data Structures & Algorithms
CITS3201 Human-Computer Interaction
CITS3230 Computer Networks (Requires CITS2200)
CITS3242 Programming Paradigms (Requires CITS2200)
CITS4211 Artificial Intelligence (Requires CITS2200)
CITS4240 Computer Vision (Requires 'high-end' programming skills)
CITS3210 Algorithms (Requires CITS2200)
CITS2230 Operating Systems (Requires CITS2200)

Unit outlines are viewable at:
School of Computer Science and Software Engineering - Semester 1
School of Computer Science and Software Engineering - Semester 2

I'm looking at working in mathematical finance so C++, Matlab/Mathematica etc. would be likable. I think some of my 3rd year units in maths use R, Matlab and some optimization program which I can't recall.

Any suggestions?

Re: Maths complimenting Comp Sci units

You do not require computer science units to learn matlab.

Re: Maths complimenting Comp Sci units

Then do whatever you find interesting. If you are set on doing 2211, then do 2200 as well since most of the other units require it.
