Well first of all u need to achiveve a D avg for your 1st yr units if u decide to apply in first yr. Having a D will give u better chance and 2nd u need to have physics as a prerequisite, this can be yr 12 physics or if u hvane't done it, u should do 2 units of physics at uni as part of ur science degree. In fact this is the most important b/c without this pre u are not eligible to apply. Lastly if u do apply, they will pick certain amount of elegible students for interview and from there the process get narrow to selection of students into the course. This only apply for non-yr12 which i believe is ur case.

It's not too competitive, there are less than 50 in the course and there's generally a few drop outs (the 1st year timetable is rediculous)
You need physics are a pre-req (year 12 or uni), and biology/anatomy does help.
There's a lot of non-year 12 people doing the course with, so there's a good chance you will get in.
Even if you don't get in for 2009, you can talk to the course covener about doing rad subjects in your science degree (one student did that and passed, then was able to switch the following year)
