i don't know wether the MK movies were actually really good or if it was me in my youth seeing a movie and thinking OMG AWESOME (like how a reviist to power rangers has shown me it was a fuckin horrible series watching as an adult)

but the concept here is pretty goddamn awesome, scorpion being the hero is pretty gangster.
